about

JD got inspired when riding on the freeway in Los Angeles with his old 1947 Chevrolet Woody in maroon color, when John was passed by an old Chevy '55 way too fast, the beautiful girl inside the car was ignoring the speed limit... and that's what this song is all about...

--> guitar intro --> C/G D C/G G/D C/G D G/D x2

1. she drove an old Chevy 55 when she passed on the fast lane
she was ridin’ much to fast as she would get away from somethin’
that girl was somewhere else but in her car
I thought she wanna fly away some far
so I thought I keep an eye on her, not knowing if she’ll ever care

Chorus 1 :

oooh I saw her on the freeway, ridin’ straight to L.A.
oooh I saw her on the freeway, drivin’ right to where I stay
C/GD C/G G/D C/GD G/D x2

2. that girl was driving like hell I had some trouble to follow
yes here I am on the road again when I lost her I felt sorrow
the girl was somewhere else but on the road
am sure she flew away
so I let her go without catching her maybe 8 miles high she stayed

Chorus 2 :

oooh I saw her on the freeway, ridin’ down to L.A.
oooh I saw her on the freeway, ridin’ down to where I stay
C/GD C/G G/D C/GD G/D x2

guitar solo...

Chorus 3 :

oooh I saw her on the freeway, ridin’ down to L.A.
oooh I saw her on the freeway, ridin’ down to where I stay
C/GD C/G G/D C/GD G/D x2

3. when I exit home on that ole gravel road I saw her on my front porch stair "she said:"
"hey come on in and take a seat it’s a fine place here for some retreat"
that girl must have come from somewhere flying in
I guess she want to do some dirty sin
so I thought I keep an eye on her, not knowing if I’ll ever care

Chorus 4 : oooh...
